ABOUT
Dear Reader,
Let me begin with a small bit about myself. Well, besides being a hip-hop artist, I've always found great pleasure in expression. This, simply, explains the purpose of scarletSmoke.net. Founded in early 2010, my blog's become a sanctuary for me (Justin a.k.a. Dyalekt). It's a place for me to basically do whatever the fuck I want. Of course, I don't have to be vulgar or explicit, but again, it's my blog, and I express as I wish. Posts range from music, humor, rants, opinion, and anything else you can think of that takes up more space than the 140 character limit set by Twitter. Yes, there's always Facebook or MySpace as well, but no, scarletSmoke.net is more like Justinbook or JustinSpace. If you don't like it, get the fuck out...and if you do, welcome, I truly do appreciate your interest in my...interests. Enjoy yourself, voice your opinion, even piss me off if you have to, because I'd rather you be real to you and enjoy the art of debate than be sad, judgmental, and leave with a bad taste in your mouth. I'm not an asshole, I promise, but I can be a dick sometimes, and if you're okay with that, then I welcome you again to scarletSmoke.net. Enjoy.
Sincerely,
Justin
PS. Here's a little less about Justin and a little more about Dyalekt if you're interested:
Linguistically, the word dialect distinguishes one variation of language from another, and so can explain the name chosen by Denver-based emcee, Dyalekt, and belonging to the Diamond Boiz is only the base of recognition in the local hip-hop scene.
Dyalekt is regarded as a youngin' by fellow artists, but as a musical genius, none the less. Beginning his hip-hop dreams as a child, by the age of 12, Dyalekt acquired his first pair of Numark turntables. His ambitions of being a prominent DJ/Producer were as young as he was, but his passion was mature. But soon, obligations shifted and by the age 16, Dyalekt focused more on lyrical expression, assisted by fellow Diamond Boi and older brother, Zome.
Since then, Dyalekt has put to work his natural-based talent in production and lyrical collaborations with other artists, such as fellow Diamond Boi, Ze, and established local artists Mane Rok, A.V.I.U.S., F.O.E., Manifest, Yonnas, Es-Nine, Spoke-in-Wordz and others. Along with the Diamond Boiz and featured cameos with Mane Rok, he has shared the stage with prominent major acts including Clipse, Nappy Roots, Likwit Junkies, Wiz Khalifa, among others.
