It's two thousand and muthafuckin' twelve!

How's that make you feel? Miss me with all the Mayan conspiracies if you're religious in some other ideology, though, please.

So, the first scarletSmoke post of the new year...it should be an important one, right? Well, it is cuz today, we on that WU-WORLD-ORDER shit. House that for conspiracy?!

What is the Wu World Order you ask? It's the 1 year anniversary party for The Lady Wu aka Lady Wu-Tang aka the Killa Beez aka the Lady Shaolin Heroes aka Wu Goddesses...I may have made a couple of those up but you know the deal! Anyways, 1 year, some Wu-Tang blessings, some opening shows, a couple headliners, and a music video in, Lady Wu is ready to bring the muthafuckin' ruckus!

Saturday, January 28th, 2012 marks the date...so mark that shit...at City Hall. Ru Black explains it best, so I'll let her do what she does and go in-depth about the show and the Shaolin Heroines, but first, some shit to push your fuckin' wig back:

Lady Wu-Tang - Protect Ya Neck

Denver – Brace yourselves for the Wu World Order, Lady Wu-Tang’s first anniversary show.  January 28th, 2012 the Killa Beez will swarm City Hall for a rousing performance of their all female tribute to the Wu-Tang Clan. With new Wu material plus all the classics you love, and backed by Esnine (Prime Element, En Stereo), on the one’s and two’s, the Wu girls will form like Voltron and you won't want to miss it.

Almost one year ago, the premier lineup of female artists, poets, MC’s and deejays in Denver came together as the Lady Wu-Tang – an all female cover band paying tribute to one of the most iconic Hip-Hop groups of all time.  Using the elements of performance theater, the Lady Wu will implement the portions of kung fu cinema and ancient artistry featured so prominently in the Wu’s repertoire, to bring a never before seen show of unstoppable female talent.

Last January the consortium sold out the Walnut Room within an hour of doors opening.  And crowds continued to line-up for the Lady Wu-Tang throughout 2011. This year’s show at City Hall is designed to highlight the longevity of the Wu-tang Clan music while the tribute continues to re-introduce the masses to the killa beez saga.

On 1.28.12, LadySpeech Sankofa, starring as Ghostface, Ebony “Isis Speaks” Booth, in the role of Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Bianca Mikahn as Raekwon, Suzi Q. Smith playing Method Man, DJ Bella Scratch as Inspectah Deck, DJ Manizer in the role of GZA, Xencs L. Wing starring as RZA, and Ralonda Simmons as U-God will be in rare form as the Lady Wu-tang.

On the heels of the release of their first tribute video “Protect Ya Neck,” directed by Brandice Robinson, the ladies are more prepared than ever with several new Wu tracks added to the set-list, and a whole slew of other antics. The main room at City Hall is the perfect location to show off this incredibly artistry.
